This slide show is made up of pictures that I found to be important in the expansion of Islam to Africa.

  1. The first slide is a picture of the symbol of Islam. It is said that the crescent moon and a start make up this symbol, because of the worship of the sun, moon, and sky gods.
  2. The second slide is a Map of Africa with the symbol of Islam embedded in it. I believe that this picture is important because it is showing that Islam expanded into African territory.
  3. The third slide is a second map of Africa. However, this one is divided in the Middle. It is depicting, that the Northern and Sub-Saharan parts of Africa were where Islam expanded to. These people then practiced the Muslim relgion. The southern half of Africa was where they practiced Christianity.
  4. This picture I thought was really interesting because of the colors, and I thought that it would catch people's eye. It also represents 14 centuries of Islam as of they year 2000.
  5. This picture just gives a little information I thought would be useful to know about the expansion of Islam.
  6. This picture of the little girl, shows the required dress for women and girls.
  7. This is a picture of a mosque, where the people of the Muslim religion worshipped.
  8. The last slide is the Bibliography of the pictures in order as they appear.
